Kallari
Rebrand + Packaging

About Kallari
Kallari is a farmer-owned association based in Ecuador. It’s comprised of over 850 Kitchwa families who collaboratively grow, process, and market their own chocolate. Their mission is to improve local livelihoods while preserving cultural and environmental heritage, and their products are certified organic and Fair Trade, ensuring ethical practices throughout their supply chain.
For this project, I refreshed Kallari’s brand and redesigned their signature line of chocolate known as “Sacha”. This collection features unique flavor combinations made with locally grown ingredients such as passionfruit, orange, and banana.
Reason for Rebrand
My goal for rebranding was to deepen the cultural storytelling while elevating the visual appeal and coherence of the packaging. This new design aims attract audiences who are ethically conscious and value sustainability, as well as health conscious individuals seeking high-quality, natural ingredients.
Inspiration
The patterns draw inspiration from Ecuador’s rich heritage of textile and jewelry craftsmanship, especially the woven patterns created by Kichwa artisans. These motifs are significant in Ecuadorian culture because they often symbolize nature, community, and storytelling. These patterns were reimagined to bring cultural depth and visual texture to the packaging.
