About Charbrew

Charbrew Tea offers a collection of herbal, detox, classic and organic teas. They emphasize both quality and environmental responsibility by using biodegradable tea bags and recyclable packaging. Aside from an environmental focus, they were looking to introduce a fresh, youthful look and playful energy to better connect with younger audiences who value creativity, wellness, and sustainability.

For this project, I designed a collection of packages for a product known as blossoming or blooming tea, which is a type of tea where loose tea leaves and edible flowers are hand-sewn together into a compact, bud-like shape. When hot water is poured over the bud, the flowers bloom into a visually stunning floral display.

Inspiration

This design draws inspiration from the timeless aesthetic of English tea culture. It’s an atmosphere that evokes elegance, gentleness, and a sense of calm. Visually, this is shown through a palette of soft yet rich colors such as powdered blues, muted lavenders, and delicate rosy pinks. These tones helped create an elegant and serene mood to hint towards the calm and welcoming atmosphere of an afternoon tea.

The pattern background also helps bring a subtle and unique playfulness to the designs. Each pattern was thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique health benefits of the type of tea it accompanies. For example, lavender tea is known to help improve sleep quality, while jasmine tea is known to help reduce inflammation.
